I like my existing version of SAM. Why should I upgrade to SAM 3.0?
We’ve updated the SAM interface to be more intuitive and user-friendly than ever. SAM 3.0 encompasses everything you love about your existing version of SAM, plus a whole bunch of newly added features straight from our users’ most requested wish list. Check out our updated features list to see everything SAM has to offer.
Please note that we will continue support and updates for SAM 2.0-2.4 through June 2017. After that time, we will continue to assist you with support tickets, but will not implement ongoing platform updates.
What does the upgrade process entail? Will it affect my website or my workflow?
The upgrade process requires very little effort on your part. It won't affect your live website. We will need to schedule a time when you and your team won't need to make any changes in the SAM system. We usually reserve 2-4 hours for the upgrade to be conservative.
Will I need more training to learn how to use SAM 3.0?
Most of the new features are intuitive. Existing SAM users should adapt quickly and easily to the improved, streamlined interface.
If you need a refresher course or would like a primer on new features, we're happy to conduct a SAM training via a remote screen sharing session. Since you're already familiar with how to edit your site in SAM, it should only take around 30 minutes to an hour. We would add this time to your quarterly or monthly web maintenance job at our hourly programming rate.
Is there a deadline for completing the upgrade process?
No, but we encourage you to contact us soon to schedule your upgrade. We are excited to help you start taking advantage of the new features and functionality that SAM 3.0 provides.
We will support earlier versions of SAM through June 2017. You may continue to use your existing version SAM after this time, but we will no longer implement ongoing system updates.
Are there are risks associated with remaining on an outdated version of SAM?
Not necessarily, but as browsers evolve over time, there may be features in your current version of SAM that become incompatible with the very latest browsers.
In addition to the updated user interface and new features in SAM 3.0, we will find and fix any new bugs that may occur. These bugs might still exist in older, unsupported versions of SAM.
I rely on your team to assist me with SAM Support tickets. Will you still complete my support requests if I choose to remain on the older version of SAM?
Yes, of course. We are always available to help with SAM questions, maintenance, training or any other support issues. However, we will not be able to add any new functionality or fix bugs in your existing version of SAM after June 2017.
